| Volunteer Title: Childcare Worker Job Classification: Part-Time in White Plains, 4 hours per week Mondays & Thursdays 5:15pm - 7:15pm Department: Programs Position Reports To: Deputy Director POSITION OVERVIEW My Sisters’ Place (MSP) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, located in Westchester County, New York, that has grown from a grassroots task force and drop-in center formalized in 1978 into a cutting-edge leader and resource in the field of domestic violence, advocacy, and services. The Childcare worker is responsible for providing supervision to the children of clients who are receiving individual and group services. DUTIES • Maintaining the safety of children while parents or caretakers are in session • Planning and providing structured activities for children; i.e. arts and crafts, reading, etc. • Maintaining the children’s play area; setting up and clean up of toys and activities • Advising Deputy Director of behavioral/safety issues that may arise with children QUALIFICATIONS • Two years of prior childcare experience desirable; preferably with babies, infants, and toddlers • Ability to work with multiple children at one time • Ability to coordinate structured activities with children • Positive attitude and strong work ethic a must • Good communication skills • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus Ad provided by Idealist.org |
